Messenger Backup
Messenger Backup is a powerful utility that serves as a companion to your instant messaging software. The program primarily allows you to back-up and restore data related to your messenger. Messenger Backup supports the four major IMs, including ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and MSN Messenger. Great if you use multiple messengers, you'll be able to save files for all applications at once. Messenger Backup offers special features specific to each program, from Registered ICQ UINs to AIM Buddy Lists to Yahoo Profiles. The program backs-up all data you'll ever need to save such as usernames, passwords, transferred files and even message logs. Messenger Backup packages these files into a compressed ZIP file, and can easily restore the data whenever the time comes. You can back-up instant messenger files on-demand, though you can take advantage of the program's scheduling function. Messenger Backup can automatically execute on a daily, weekly or revolving basis, or whenever Windows boots up. You can name individual back-up sessions and have the ZIP files placed in a certain directory. As a bonus, the program can also be used as a chat logger. It's capable of recording up to 15 open chat boxes for conversations on AIM and MSN Messenger. Messenger Backup is excellent for avoiding data loss related to system failures. It's also useful for transferring IM settings from one computer to another. Note that Messenger Backup requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher and any English instant messengers. If you're not sure what version of ICQ or AIM you are using, Messenger Backup will automatically backup any current or older versions.
